Description
Modern CPUs need a decent heatsink or they'll go up in smoke. On the other hand most heatsinks ship with a small, quickly rotating fan that makes a lot of noise. It's often a good solution to replace it by a bigger, slower fan. Such a fan has a higher air troughput and is also more quiet. If the heatsink is too small to bear a big fan some modding is necessary! Aubry fixated his CPU fan with duct tape. This forms some sort of a closed tube which is optimal for air flow. The fan doesn't blow the air on the heatsink, it blows it away. To prevent the fan from falling off you need good tape because the temperature might exceed 50°C. Duct Tape is a must. |
