Description
A 25m network cable (made of cheap 4-wire phone cable but works at 10 Mbps) leads from Matt's room to the terrace to allow LAN and internet usage outside. This cable isn't always laid out, most of the time it's rolled up in the room. If it's only rolled up loosely it forms an ugly clew. Thus a cable roll had to be ghetto modded, since there was no good material one had to be made from junk. You can see the result below.
Parts for the roll
€ 1 cardboard roll
€ 6 rods or toothpicks (optimal: 10 cm)
Assembly
First, poke six holes into the cardboard roll. They should have the same distance in between. They shouldn't be in one line or you won't be able to stick the toothpicks in there.
Now stick them in and fasten them with some glue.
Cut out a bit of one side of the cardboard roll, this is for fastening one end of the cable. |
| The finished cable roll. If that is not ghetto I don't know what is... |
| The inside with glue points and a slot to fasten the cable |
