DescriptionA badass modder built an ashtray from wrecked CD-Rs even though he doesn't smoke! We from DiM like this idea because at our place it happens often that an ashtray gets busted because of glowing stumps.
Stuff needed for the ashtray
€ a powerful heat source, for example a hair dryer or a gas burner
€ a few wrecked CD-Rs (AOL CDs work, too)
ProductionFirst, heat up the CD-R in the center. After that, glue the deformed CD onto a second one that is still in shape. Of course you have to fill the hole first, for example with hot glue. Now you just need the dents for the cigarettes or whatever you're smoking ;-) These dents can be made with a soldering iron. |

| These nice patterns appear if you cook the CD in the microwave for a few seconds. But don't do it if you still need the microwave! |
| The #-Tray. It was used often as you can see by the ash traces. It was built by Matt to test the mod in practice (and because the wrecked CDs are garbage anyway). |
| The Beavis-Tray. It was built from damaged Beavis & Butthead CDs. |
