Description
My PC case got too hot at the bottom when running for a longer period so I had to invent a better cooling solution. The problem should be solved by adding ventilation slots. To make sure the air circulates well the left side of the case was partially cut off with a hacksaw. A blue metal plate with slots (from the trash in the Swisscom LW) was screwed on the open part. To allow an easier removal of the case's side panel it was cut off from the rest using the same hacksaw.
It runs for hours now without getting too hot. |
The closed case. The side cover has been cut at the upper edge. Below there's the plate with the ventilation slots.
Thanks to the hacksaw the case can be opened much more easily when it's under the desk.
Die Aussenseite der Abdeckung. Sieht eigentlich kaum nach Murks aus.
The cut-out on the inside.
The heat's origin, a soundcard and a WinTV.
A PS/2 has been modded here because it was on a back panel originally. To cover the pointy screws it was wrapped in duct tape.
