Description
This little robot is called Adam and was built 18 months ago. Its logic circuit allows it to drive independently and even avoid obstacles!
The control circuit is pretty simple and works as follows:
Adam has two end switches in the front, as soon as one is pressed after hitting an obstacle, the capacitor is discharged and the relay disabled, this causes the motor to reverse its polarity and the robot drives backward. When the capacitor is charged again, the relay is re-enabled and Adam drives forward again. The charging of the capacitors can be controlled with a potentiometer, that way Adam will make a turn after touching an obstacle. |
| Adam's chassis is made of Lego Technic parts. The motor at the bottom has been affixed with duct tape. |
| This is Adam, compared to a bottle of wine. The power source, a 9V battery, is located at the rear side. |
| The whole logic circuit is soldered to a breadboard PCB. It has been mounted in a professional way (using wire). The cables are nice, too. |
