Description
Are you into nostalgia, got a CPC emulator on your computer and would like to enjoy your old programs on your PC? This is quite an easy way to transfer your data from the CPC to the PC. To do that you have to connect a standard 3.5" or 5.25" floppy disk drive to the second floppy port of your CPC. You just need a cable that links the floppy disk drive and the CPC together. Here you'll find the instructions.
Since the CPC664 and CPC6128 are different in design (the CPC664 has direct PCB connectors, the CPC6128 has a centronics port) you have to build the appropriate cable.
Needed parts for the CPC6128 link cable
€ 1 floppy IDE cable (34 pins)
€ 1 centronics connector (36 pins)
Assembly
All you have to do is to solder the IDE cable to the centronics connector using the right pinout. All GND pins can be soldered together without problems. If you cut the wrong wire don't panic! Replace it with a piece of a cable or wire. If you don't have any wires left use solder (ghetto!)! Just make sure you don't make any short circuits. |
| This mod didn't work due to a faulty pin-assignment. Maybe you'll find the correct assignment yourself. Have a lot of fun! |
